ABOUT ME:

I've always loved cooking from the time I was a kid growing up in a home with an at-home mom who had three spice racks on the wall...and she used them all!

In school, I trained in Floral Design and ran my own home-based floral business, specializing in weddings. This was a great outlet for my creative design hunger. I've LOVED crafting and art ever since I can remember.

I married into a Dutch family who LOVE their confections! I took my Father-in-law's family apple pie recipe, added my own flair, entered it into a local pie contest and won FIRST PLACE!!

In the summer of 2007, I decided to take a cake decorating class. When it was finished, I took a second one. I am now obsessed with cake decorating!!

I can hardly quench my thirst for learning new decorating techniques but I still love cooking and baking! I've taken my experience with food, art, creative design and customer service (of which I have LOADS of experience) and am able to funnel them all into my creations.

There are a number of things I enjoy most...
1. Trying new techniques
2. Making people happy with food
3. The creative and artistic outlet
...not necessarily in that order!
